Happy birthday to me!! Wow, I’m so grateful for another 365 days around the sun. I am grateful to be here to celebrate another year of life. Another year of being able to love others and receive love, to travel, to learn and to continue to grow spiritually.
For my birthday, I usually go on vacation to someplace really, really hot. But not this year. This year, my grandmother’s 90th birthday party was planned during the weekend that I would normally travel. I will be with her and my husband’s family, celebrating her life. I volunteered to be the photographer for the night, so I’ll be walking around, capturing smiles and laughter.
I might go on a quick romantic date with my husband, eat some yummy food and try to relax in the hotel if I can.
As I get older, I realize how much I have learned from my mom. How much her discipline and stubbornness has impacted me in a positive way. She was regimented, calculated and cautious. I am the same way. It works for me. It works for my household. She taught me to pray, she taught me to have faith, she taught me about gratitude. She has been gone for 2 years and it still feels like her passing was just yesterday. Mom, your only child is doing well!! Making you proud every single day. Cheers to another 365 days around the sun!!
