Waist-length braided ponytail on natural hair

Hey friends! Today I’m bringing you a really fun look- the waist-length braided ponytail on natural hair. Who doesn’t love a long ponytail, right? This style was so easy to do. I’ll break it down for you.

What I used for this style:

  • Warm water in a spray bottle
  • Eco Styler gel
  • Jojoba oil
  • Hair brush
  • Braiding hair (I used Kanekolon hair)
  • Small rubber band for the ends of the hair

I’m still working from home every day, so my hair is usually in a low bun or ponytail. I decided to jazz up my hair by doing a sleek braided ponytail. To prep my hair, I spritzed it with water and added eco styler gel and some oil.  The oil keeps the gel from flaking and it keeps my hair really soft. I do not like my hair to be hard at all at any time, ever. I brushed my hair thoroughly to make sure it was smooth and then pulled it back into a ponytail.

The kanekalon braiding hair is so soft and really easy to manipulate.  The hair came split like this, held together by a rubber band. I removed the rubber band and added a soft hair tie to keep it in place. I wrapped the band of the kanekalon braiding hair around my own ponytail. I always place the braiding hair under my natural hair. I think that doing it like this gives it a more seamless look. You are not able to see where my hair ends and the braiding hair begins. I take my time to make sure that every loop is neat from start to finish.

Voila! That’s all it took to get this look.

Xo,

Nicky
