Welcome! I’m Nicky, a red lipstick loving former New Yorker enjoying life in the south. Charlotte, North Carolina to be exact! My husband, my son and my dog are my world and I love doing life with them.
HOW THE BLOG STARTED
In 2013, I decided to start my natural hair journey. I grabbed a pair of scissors and happily cut off all of my relaxed hair. Shortly after, I created this blog as a platform to connect with and help other natural hair women with their hair journey. Because of awesome readers like you, the blog has grown exponentially and for that I want to say thank you!
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
My goal is to always inpire you, motivate you or to teach you something new. I’ve worked really hard to acheive my goals and accomplish my dreams and I aim to inspire other women to do the same through my story telling. In addition to natural hair, NickyAnn.com has now expanded to include life, style and home decor content. Here, I’ll teach you how to take care of your natuarl hair, inspire you to take care of your home all while sharing some cute outfits too.

You are so inspiring! Wow. I love your blog and am happy we found each other in this big internet world! I recently chopped my hair off too and completely understand where you are coming from with that. It’s amazing when we finally learn to love the way our hair naturally looks without any pretense. Very beautiful and I look forward to seeing more from you =) P.S. you should consider doing a tutorial on false eye lashes. I cannot for the life of me get my act together with them. They don’t stay on for too long so I know I am doing something wrong 😦
Aw, thank you so very much. I try to be. I find inspiration in many things, and I hope to inspire others. I am glad to have found you too!! It was meant to be. 🙂
So, you chopped your hair off as well? Were you terrified like I was? It is an amazing feeling when you can look in the mirror and just be happy with yourself. Lord knows I have struggled with this, especially when I was in my early 20’s. I felt so, blah! I didn’t like my skinny legs, my skin, my hair. But the older I get, the more I love myself.
Yes! I am considering doing videos. I just got an amazing camera to film with. Lashes at first seem to be hard to learn, but I’m telling you, practice makes perfect. Just like with cooking, right? If they are not staying on for very long, you might need to change the glue that you are using. I use DUO. I posted a picture of it in my recent Va-Va-Voom post. Also, put extra glue on the ends of the lashes. The inner and outer part. Those are the areas that lift easily, so more glue should do the trick. Keep practicing! 🙂
Congratulations Nicky! I’ve nominated you for the Dragon’s Loyalty Award! Check out this post for more information on your nomination.
